Coolangatta, the sequel

Two weeks ago the family had an afternoon out at Coolangatta beach, near the south end of the Gold Coast. We went there again this afternoon and I'm glad I tagged along. It was another refreshing day out. There weren't any jellyfish this time, fortunately, and the water was quite pleasant (green flag out). I managed to catch a couple of waves without a board and I was starting to get the hang of it when Rodney gave me his board and left the beach. Bah! :D The surf was pretty small but I still managed to catch a dozen or so waves with Jeff on his board as well.

On the way back we stopped at Yatala pies. Never had those before, but they have a reputation for being the best in Queensland (self-reputation, perhaps?). Definitely a rep for being good, in any case. And they were. I consider myself to be something of a pie connoiseur. These were quite tasty. Unfortunately no steak, bacon and cheese, so I settled for steak and bacon. Crispy pastry, good texture to it. Filling had real meat in it - good quality and high ratio of meat to gravy. Bacon was nice, as was the consistency of the gravy sauce. Alright, now I'm rambling. :D Certainly one of the best pies I've had in a while.

I was munching on some hot chips after the pie and my filling broke apart. :/ In fact small pieces are still coming off it as I type this entry. It's a damn nuisance.

I haven't heard back from Gnarus yet. I should call them in the morning (which is the thing to do if you're genuinely interested about employment, which I am). I should also see about this thesis project I want to do and drop into uni to talk to the supervisor.

The one other thing I wanted to add to this entry: someone made an amusing comment to me earlier today and I took offense. Fortunately I kept it to myself this time but I definitely think I take things much too personally. It's something I should work on but the mindset I've been in recently....it won't be easy.
